Skarra Mucci
Skarra Mucci, born in Kingston, Jamaica, is an artist active since childhood who recorded his first track at the age of nine for producer Harry J. Initially rooted in the Jamaican sound system circuit, he relocated to Europe in the late 1990s — first to Switzerland, where he made an impression with the track “Bonx It” alongside The Ganglords, and then to Germany, where he released his first solo album Rise & Shine in 2007. He went on to produce several major projects, including 912 aka Hot Like Fire (2009), Skarraschizzo (2010), Return of the Raggamuffin (2012) — an album honored in France —, Greater Than Great (2014) and Dancehall President (2016). Over the course of his career Skarra Mucci has collaborated with numerous Jamaican and French artists, among them Beenie Man, Dub Inc’, Yaniss Odua and Horace Andy, building an international profile that extends beyond traditional reggae circles. Now based in Europe, he continues studio work and touring, maintaining a prominent presence in the dancehall/raggamuffin scene and establishing himself as a recognized figure of the movement internationally.
