Bearings

Formed in Ottawa, Canada, Bearings has been developing since the mid‑2010s a sound that sits between melodic pop punk, modern emo and alternative rock. Signed to the California label Pure Noise Records, the band gained notice on the North American indie scene thanks to songwriting focused on the tensions of coming of age, romantic relationships and life on tour. After several EPs that gradually established the project, Bearings released their first album in 2018, "Blue in the Dark", which set the foundations for a style centered on clean guitars, catchy choruses and very present vocals. In 2020, "Hello, It’s You" emphasized the melodic side and introduced more indie rock influences while remaining rooted in pop punk energy. "The Best Part About Being Human", released in 2023, confirmed that evolution with more direct compositions driven by fast tempos and a strong emphasis on vocal harmonies. Active on club and festival circuits in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, Bearings belongs to a generation of bands mixing the 2000s pop‑punk legacy with more introspective songwriting, seeking a balance between immediacy and attention to melodic detail.
