Love Spells

Born in Houston, Texas, Sir Taegen C’aion Harris leads the project Love Spells, which he then develops from Los Angeles in a register between dream pop, shoegaze and indie rock with ethereal hues. Love Spells builds slow, misty music, centered on diffuse guitars, suspended melodies and an androgynous voice that gives the whole thing a melancholic, intimate and hushed tone. The project emerged in the early 2020s with a series of tracks circulated online, then quickly refined an aesthetic focused on love songs, desire, absence and emotional ambiguities. This thread appears in several tracks such as Reach Out and Kiss Me, Lovers Only or With Only Your Mouth, as well as on the mini-album The Love I Showed You Was Yours to Keep, released in 2024. Through this repertoire, Love Spells sits within a contemporary indie scene where atmospheric pop, shoegaze slows and sentimental writing intersect, with a deliberately tightened format around the song and an immersive atmosphere.
