Deb Never
Based in Los Angeles after growing up between Seattle, Spokane, and several Asian countries, Deb Never develops a writing style that blends alternative pop, emo pop, grunge, and lo‑fi rock in often concise formats, carried by a flexible voice and guitars with rough edges. Of Korean descent and active since the late 2010s, Deb Never began releasing her tracks online in 2017 before releasing the single "Mr. Nobody" in 2018, then the House on Wheels EP in 2019 on the California label and collective WeDidIt. Her path then unfolds between intimate songs, DIY production, and back‑and‑forth between pop melodies, abrasive textures, and more melancholic tones. In 2020, Deb Never released Intermission, then continued with Where Have All the Flowers Gone? in 2021, a project accompanied by a short film, and Thank You for Attending in 2023. Her trajectory also includes occasional collaborations with Brockhampton and a presence on stages at the crossroads of indie rock, alternative pop, and aesthetics derived from the Internet. Deb Never evolves her repertoire toward a broader form with Arcade, released in 2026, while preserving this mix of fragility, grunge energy, and streamlined choruses that runs through all of her music.
