Night Tapes

Based in London, Night Tapes brings together Estonian singer Iiris Vesik and British musicians Max Doohan and Sam Richards — a trio formed in the late 2010s out of sessions played between flatmates in the south of the city. Night Tapes develops songwriting that sits between dream pop, alternative pop and hushed electronic textures, with slow or supple tracks, suspended vocals and production that favors nocturnal atmospheres. The project emerged with the EP Dream Forever in Glorious Stereo in 2019, followed by Download Spirit in 2020, which laid the foundations of Night Tapes’ universe between airy melodies and discreet rhythms. The group then continued with Perfect Kindness in 2023 and assisted memories in 2024, evolving its format toward more open songs while retaining its misty, introspective aesthetic. Their first album, portals//polarities, was released in 2025. Night Tapes thus moves between indie, dream pop and electronic scenes, with a repertoire that also leaves room for reinterpretations and remixes by the likes of Franc Moody, Laurence Guy and Benjamin Damage.
