Between Albuquerque, New Mexico, and San Diego, California, Chezile builds a world where psychedelic pop and indie rock meet in intimate songwriting. Behind this stage name, inspired by a skateboarding figure, is Alejandro Sanchez—born into a family shaped by regional Mexican music, a multi‑instrumentalist who writes and arranges his own material. Chezile’s rise began with the single “Beanie,” a pop track with psychedelic hues that gained traction on TikTok in 2023, introducing his work to a wider audience and placing him among a new generation of alternative artists tied to digital platforms. Earlier, the EP “47” established an aesthetic of melodic, sentimental indie rock at moderate tempos with guitars drenched in reverb. He continued that exploration with the EP “Alē,” fueled by trips across the New Mexico desert and his skateboarding practice, to pursue warmer, more contemplative moods bordering on light dream pop. Based in San Diego, Chezile now focuses on writing new songs and developing a project where Mexican and American identities, skate culture, and indie pop respond to one another.
