Alien Ant Farm
Formed in Riverside, California, in 1996, Alien Ant Farm entered the American rock scene of the late 1990s with a blend of alternative rock, alternative metal, nu metal and funk touches. Led by singer Dryden Mitchell and drummer Mike Cosgrove, the band first made a name for themselves on the local independent circuit before releasing their debut album “Greatest Hits” in 1999 and signing with DreamWorks for “ANThology” in 2001, which propelled Alien Ant Farm onto international stages with songs that combined heavy guitars, melodic choruses and pop-culture nods. The release of “TruANT” in 2003, produced by Robert and Dean DeLeo, confirmed a shift toward a more alternative-rock sound, despite a serious bus accident in Spain in 2002 that slowed their activity. Alien Ant Farm followed with “Up in the Attic” in 2006 and then entered a more irregular period marked by lineup changes, nostalgic tours revisiting their 2000s repertoire and more widely spaced releases. A return to the studio resulted in “Always and Forever” in 2015, which continued the mix of metal riffs, groove and pop melodies, followed by “Mantras” in 2024, affirming Alien Ant Farm’s intent to remain active on the international alternative rock circuit while capitalizing on their identity as a live band.
