Eefje de Visser

Born in 1986 in Voorburg and raised in Moordrecht in the Netherlands, Eefje de Visser entered the Dutch pop scene by choosing to write and sing exclusively in Dutch, paying particular attention to the rhythm and sound of the language. Trained notably at the Rockacademie in Tilburg, she first attracted attention in 2009 at the Grote Prijs van Nederland, before releasing her debut album 'De koek' in 2011, which features intimate songwriting and arrangements still close to folk and chanson. With 'Het is' in 2013 and 'Nachtlicht' in 2016, the musician shifted toward more atmospheric pop, marked by electronic textures, slow pulses and increased work on harmonies and vocal loops. The 2020 album 'Bitterzoet' reinforces this move toward dreamlike pop with synthetic sonorities and nocturnal moods. On stage, Eefje de Visser performs with a band that translates these detailed constructions into more physical versions, playing clubs and festivals across the Netherlands and Belgium, consolidating an aesthetic where pop melodies, electronic influences and introspective songwriting remain central to her work.
