Hiqpy

Formed in Amsterdam in 2023 among students from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Hiqpy is a quartet featuring Abir Hamam (vocals, guitar), Victor ter Veld (guitar), Tom Radsma (bass) and Kasper de Boer (drums). Hiqpy operates at the intersection of indie rock, alt‑rock, grunge, shoegaze and lo‑fi, delivering tracks driven by thick guitars, direct melodies and a tension that shifts between pop hooks and a rougher, abrasive edge. The band’s trajectory has been built primarily on stage: they took part in the Popronde in 2023 before releasing an official single, and quickly accumulated dates across the Dutch circuit in 2024, with notable appearances at Noorderslag, Paaspop, Best Kept Secret and Into The Great Wide Open. This growing visibility also included their first live release, 'Slachthuis Sessions' (2024), ahead of the single 'Something' in 2025. Hiqpy has also opened for acts such as Massive Attack, a still‑recent but already closely connected path to the Netherlands’ rock and festival scenes.
