Behind The Haunted Youth lies Joachim Liebens, a Belgian musician based in Hasselt, who shapes dream pop with psychedelic undertones, balancing discreet shoegaze, melodic indie rock, and synth textures. The project first gained recognition in the early 2020s with a string of singles, including Teen Rebel, before settling permanently into the indie scene with its debut album, Dawn of the Freak (2022). It features heavily reverberated guitars, enveloping keyboards, and melancholic vocals that revolve around adolescence, doubt, and escape.
