On October 27, 2026, Citizen bring their restless mix of emo, post-hardcore and alternative rock to SWG3 Glasgow. Formed between Toledo and southeastern Michigan, the band first hit with the tense, upfront punch of Youth, then kept twisting their sound into something denser and more hazy, flirting with soft grunge and shoegaze textures along the way. If Everybody Is Going to Heaven leaned into abrasive, foggy guitars, later records like As You Please opened the frame toward indie-leaning melodies without losing that tight, coiled energy.
Led by Mat Kerekes alongside Nick Hamm, Eric Hamm, Mason Mercer and Ben Russin, Citizen’s recent run, from Life in Your Glass World to Calling the Dogs, shows a band that knows how to write direct, sharp songs and still leave room for atmosphere. Expect a set that moves between urgency and weight, built for anyone who likes their hooks a little bruised and their choruses earned.
