Info
On October 6, 2026, Baaba Maal comes to Blue Note London for a live set that puts his voice and storytelling front and center. Born in Podor in northern Senegal, he draws from the Fouta heritage and often sings in Pulaar, shaping songs where Sahel traditions meet a wide-open, modern pulse.
Over the years he’s moved effortlessly between West African folk roots and sharper electric moments, folding in touches of pop, reggae, soul, and more recent textures that can lean toward Afro-pop, rock, rap, or electronics without losing the thread. Expect a concert that travels across decades of his repertoire, from the international breakthrough era of the late 80s and 90s to later work, always built around rhythm, melody, and that unmistakable vocal presence.
