Bonobo, aka Simon Green, returns to the decks for a matinee DJ set at Rough Trade East in London on September 12, 2026. A British producer who has mastered the art of making downtempo, supple beats and organic textures converse, he has since the late 1990s built a melodic electronic framework where trip-hop, nu jazz and soul influences cross paths.
In DJ mode, Bonobo condenses all that defines his sound: soft basslines, precise grooves, a gradually rising tension, and a keen eye for detail inherited from his productions. This event also marks the release of his new album Distance In Static on Ninja Tune, a record that sits in the continuum of his expansive writing, conceived as much for listening as for the dancefloor, between cinematic atmospheres and club energy.
