Info
Embrace play Bristol Beacon in Bristol on 19 November 2026, bringing three decades of melodic British rock to the stage. Formed in the early 1990s in Bailiff Bridge, West Yorkshire, the band centres on brothers Danny and Richard McNamara, joined by Steve Firth, Mike Heaton and Mickey Dale. Their sound blends alternative rock with melodic guitars, keyboards and a vocal delivery that keeps the tension just under the surface.
The group broke through with the singles All You Good Good People, Fireworks and One Big Family before releasing The Good Will Out in 1998. Drawn from Memory followed in 2000 and If You’ve Never Been in 2001, marking a shift toward more restrained, introspective writing. Embrace returned in 2004 with Out of Nothing, featuring Gravity, a song penned by Chris Martin, then This New Day in 2006. After a long pause, they picked up again in 2013 and released Embrace (2014), Love Is a Basic Need (2018) and How to Be a Person Like Other People (2022).
On stage, Embrace draw a clear line from their post-Britpop roots to more open, airier arrangements, mixing early anthems with later cuts. Expect a set that leans on melody and slow-burn dynamics, with the band’s catalogue reshaped for a room built to let those choruses lift.
