Luvcat

Under the name Luvcat, Sophie Morgan Howarth—born in Liverpool in 1996 and having lived in Rainhill and later Widnes—has been developing since 2023 an English project in which alternative rock meets dark pop, tinged with gothic elements and traces of alternative folk. Before Luvcat she released music as Sophie Morgan that was more acoustic, driven by voice, piano and guitar, with the EPs Annie (2017), Sons & Daughters (2018) and Marmalade (2020). That earlier period led her, among other things, to tour the UK and Europe with The Waterboys in 2017. With Luvcat the songwriting moves into darker territory, between noir ballad, theatrical pop rock and romantic melodies. The project took shape on record with Matador in 2024, followed by He’s My Man and Dinner @ Brasserie Zédel the same year, and then Love & Money, Lipstick and Vicious Delicious in 2025. The album Vicious Delicious was released in 2025. On stage, Luvcat has performed at All Points East, opened for The Last Dinner Party, Paris Paloma and Sabrina Carpenter, and operates within a circuit that mixes clubs, festivals and UK tours.
