Apparat

Apparat, the alter ego of Berlin producer Sascha Ring, will perform at the Cirque Royal in Brussels on 5 October 2026. Since the late 1990s his electronic work has shifted from IDM and techno toward more melodic, cinematic forms in which the voice is used as a sonic element. Live he combines atmospheric textures with precisely drawn rhythms and songs on the border between ambient and pop. He will draw on material from his solo catalogue — from Walls and The Devil’s Walk to LP5 — supplemented by recent work.

Ring regularly collaborates with others (including Ellen Allien) and, with Modeselektor, forms the trio Moderat; at the same time he has been building a body of work in music for theatre and film. That background resonates in his stage work: careful arcs of tension, transparent layers and shifts between introspection and pulse. A set in which sound design, melody and timing are central, at the intersection of club and listening experience.
