The Illegal Tapes Sessions bring together Evita Manji, Exzald S and Joanna OJ on 21 March 2026 at La Boule Noire, Paris, for an evening where transformed voices and electronic textures answer one another.
Evita Manji, a Greek singer, composer and multimedia artist, crafts sonic ecosystems in which synthesis and sound design sculpt shifting forms. With Spandrel? released on the Berlin label PAN, her voice slips between mutant pop sonorities and fluid rhythms, allowing a cybernetic melancholy to surface. She has been heard alongside Ludwig Wandinger, Van Boom, and on SOPHIE’s posthumous album.
Exzald S unfolds dreamlike, immersive landscapes from finely textured sound design. Her voice, treated as an instrument, overlays sculpted layers that glide between clarity and abstraction, guided by emotional instinct. She appears on Aho Ssan’s Wondertomb (Berlin Atonal) and Rhizomes, with Jlin under the alias Fawkes, and on Labège in collaboration with Nexciya and mu tate. In 2025 she released the album Iridesc on Subtext.
Joanna OJ combs the depths of the internet in search of rare electronic-music gems, assembling them into sharp, curated selections where confidential finds and offbeat pathways meet.
