Info

Gogol Bordello bring their gypsy punk to Montréal on February 20, 2026 at MTELUS. Formed in New York in the late 1990s around Ukrainian singer and guitarist Eugene Hütz, the band shaped its sound in the Lower East Side club scene, mixing punk urgency with Balkan rhythms, violin and accordion. A multilingual repertoire in English, Ukrainian, Russian and Romani mirrors the group’s varied roots and the journeys behind them. Early releases like Voi-La Intruder (1999), Multi Kontra Culti vs. Irony (2002) and Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike (2005) laid the foundations, followed by Super Taranta! (2007) and Trans-Continental Hustle (2010), produced by Rick Rubin. The songs track themes of exile, migration, diaspora life and social tension, carried through Pura Vida Conspiracy (2013), Seekers and Finders (2017) and Solidaritine (2022). On stage, Gogol Bordello stretch this blend further, shifting languages and tempos, letting folk motifs crash into alternative rock, with flashes of ska and dub for a set that moves and tells a story in the same breath.
