Yaelokre

Led by Keath Ósk, Yaelokre occupies a crossroads between Reykjavík and the Philippines, with a writing style that ties acoustic folk, OPM and storybook imagination together. Emerging in 2024, Yaelokre takes the form of a narrative universe called Meadowlark, developed through songs, illustrations and staged performances in which several masked characters respond to one another. Yaelokre’s music rests on understated melodies, vocals and light arrangements that evoke both folk tradition and contemporary folk-pop, with narrative at its core. The first EP, Hayfields, was released in 2024 and established this world with “Harpy Hare,” a track that circulated widely online that year. Yaelokre continued the thread with Songs of Origin in 2024 and Origins in 2025, deepening the perspective on the figures at the heart of the project. On stage Yaelokre often appears in costume and wearing masks tied to this mythology, sometimes accompanied by a band, and also performs in larger settings, notably as the opening act for Aurora in Manila in 2025.
