Joep Beving

Dutch pianist and composer Joep Beving will take the stage at the Café de la Danse in Paris on 3 June 2026. He has made his mark with a piano of velvety touch and a minimalist compositional style that lets silence breathe. He describes his approach as music that is accessible to complex emotions.

His pieces glide between classical, pop and avant-garde. Backed by more than 300 million streams and roughly 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, he has developed a distinctive signature: spare melodies, patient progressions, sustained intensity.

On stage, he appears in solo piano performances, with Echo Collective, or alongside Maarten Vos on modular synthesizer and cello; some line-ups also incorporate the Cappella Amsterdam choir. A restrained lighting design by Nick Verstand and Boris Acket extends the atmosphere of his works.

Hermetism, his fourth album for Deutsche Grammophon, was released in April 2022. Vision of Contentment, recorded with Maarten Vos, followed on Leiter Verlag in July 2024.
