Info

Cyril Mokaiesh has carved out a singular path in French chanson since Communiste in 2011. A former tennis player who passed through a rock quartet, he traded the courts for the stage, with direct, civic-minded songwriting that observes the times without giving up the intimate. Seated in Ménilmontant, he composes as one holds the course, between tension and tenderness, buoyed by a clear voice.

After Clôture, he explored his roots and encounters: Paris-Beyrouth in 2020, Dyade in 2021, then a tribute to Georges Moustaki with Le temps de vivre in 2023. He is now back as a solo artist with Bonne chance pour la suite, opened by Regarder passer les trains, a spoken-sung piece that embraces doubt and rekindles the momentum.

On 17 March 2026 at the Café de la Danse in Paris, Mokaiesh will present these new songs and dive back into his repertoire. His voice and lyrics, engaged with reality, carry forward this simple watchword: “to write so as not to wither,” as Anne Sylvestre reminded us.
