Séverin
Born in Paris in 1979, Séverin has since the mid-2000s developed a path that links French pop, chanson, synthpop and Brazilian influences. He first drew attention with the electropop duo One-Two, spotted in Germany by the Four Music label and featured in the Inrockuptibles CQFD selection in 2005, before releasing the albums Love Again in 2006 and The Story of Bob Star in 2008. As a solo artist, Séverin began a shift toward a more French-language approach with Cheesecake in 2009, a project written by himself and performed by several female vocalists, then with the album Séverin in 2012, the first record where he handles an entirely French repertoire himself. His writing favors flexible pop formats, crisp melodies and arrangements that blend electronic lightness, chanson and rhythms from Brazil, particularly evident on Ça ira tu verras in 2016, featuring Kiwi da Gama. In 2014, Séverin founded the Neon Napoleon label and Studio Navarin, extending his activity as producer and director for other artists such as Camélia Jordana, Liza Manili, Cléa Vincent, Rose or Alizée. The rest of his discography includes Transatlantique in 2019, the single Mea culpa in 2022, Nouveaux Dinosaures in 2023 and the live album Live à la Nouvelle Ève in 2024. Séverin also composes for image and animation, notably for the series Simon.
