Carola

Born in Hägersten, in the Stockholm region, and raised in Norsborg, Sweden, Carola Häggkvist made her mark in Swedish pop as early as 1983 with 'Främling', a title that established her more permanently in the Nordic music scene. Her career spans several registers, from schlager to pop, with notable forays into gospel, Christmas carols, religious hymns, soul, and a more assertive pop-rock across different periods. Carola has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden three times, first in 1983, then in 1991 with 'Fångad av en stormvind', which won the contest, and finally in 2006 with 'Invincible'. Her discography alternates between pop albums and more thematic projects, such as Runaway (1986), produced with Maurice Gibb, My Tribute (1993), focused on gospel, Personligt (1994), Jul i Betlehem (1999), My Show (2001), Från nu till evighet (2006) or Drömmen om julen (2016). Over the decades, Carola has also worked on stage, notably in 'The Sound of Music' (1995) and 'Les Misérables' (2002), while maintaining a regular presence in major broadcasts and Scandinavian tours.
