Charlotte Perrelli

Born Anna Jenny Charlotte Nilsson in Hovmantorp, Småland, Sweden, Charlotte Perrelli first trained in the dansband scene with Bengt Ingvars, later performing with Anders Engbergs and Wizex before launching a solo career. As Charlotte Nilsson she won Melodifestivalen and then the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 with "Take Me to Your Heaven", a milestone that secured her place in the Swedish pop landscape. Perrelli’s repertoire spans schlager, melodic pop and disco, characterized by a clear, direct vocal style rooted in the Scandinavian television and popular tradition, while she has also explored ballads, jazz covers and Christmas albums. Her solo discography includes Charlotte (1999), Miss Jealousy (2001), Gone Too Long (2004), I din röst (2006), Hero (2008), The Girl (2012), Min barndoms jul (2013) and Mitt liv (2017). Adopting the name Charlotte Perrelli in the early 2000s, she returned to Melodifestivalen several times, winning again in 2008 with "Hero" and representing Sweden at Eurovision for a second time. Since then she has maintained a steady career across stage, television and single releases, in an aesthetic loyal to mainstream Swedish pop and schlager.
