Dave Lofts

Born in County Wicklow and based in Waterford, Dave Lofts builds a singer-songwriter repertoire where folk, pop and soul intersect. His rough, direct voice places him in an Irish tradition rooted in song and rock. Dave Lofts first drew attention on Ireland’s live scene with covers of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” and Sam Fender’s “Seventeen Going Under”, before emphasizing his own material, including “Tell Me”, “Let Me Go Home” and “Just A Man” — songs that focus on themes like anxiety and mental health. His trajectory also includes a tribute to Shane MacGowan with “Song With No Name” and a performance of “Kitty” at the After Session in Tipperary following the Pogues singer’s funeral. Signed to B Unique in London, Dave Lofts has shared bills and opened for artists such as Damien Dempsey, Gavin James and Kingfishr, and has appeared at several Irish festivals, including Kaleidoscope, Sea Sessions, All Together Now and Electric Picnic. On stage he favors melodic songwriting, an acoustic foundation and vocal intensity that link his covers to his original repertoire.
