Jesse & Joy
Born in Mexico, Jesse Huerta and Joy Huerta—brother and sister who have performed as a duo since 2005—develop a Latin pop sound that blends acoustic pop rock, folk and songwriting, with Joy’s voice at the forefront and arrangements centered on piano, guitar and harmonies. Jesse & Joy emerged in the mid-2000s with Esta Es Mi Vida in 2006, followed by the EP Esto Es Lo Que Soy in 2008 and the album Electricidad in 2009, where they refined a more direct sound while retaining a very accessible melodic base. With ¿Con Quién Se Queda El Perro? in 2011 the duo further broadened their audience across Latin America and on stages in the United States, before releasing the live record Soltando al Perro in 2014 and Un Besito Más in 2015. Their career also includes songs and collaborations with Mario Domm, Pablo Alborán, Alejandro Sanz, J Balvin and Luis Fonsi, as well as a clearer move toward English–Spanish bilingualism. Jesse & Joy later released Aire in 2020 and Clichés in 2022, continuing to tour in Mexico, Latin America, Spain and the United States. Key milestones in their history include the Latin Grammy for Best New Artist in 2007 and the Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album for Un Besito Más in 2017.
