Under the name ASYS, Frank Ellrich has built a career linked to the German electronic scene since the late 1990s, first within the Frankfurt milieu and later internationally. His musical language bridges hard trance, acid and techno, with direct structures, taut rhythms and very prominent acid lines. ASYS emerged amid the crossover between hard trance and techno that then defined German clubs, later steering his sound toward a more frontal techno while retaining its acid identity. Both a DJ and a producer, ASY*S has played at events such as Time Warp and Mysteryland and released on several techno labels, alongside Fe Chrome, his own label launched in 2018. His discography also includes collaborations—most notably with T78—in an energetic, tightly focused club techno register nourished by the European rave heritage.
