Jay Lumen

Born in Budapest in 1981, Jay Lumen has developed since the mid-2000s a career centered on direct, physical and melodic techno, driven by taut basslines, acidic lines, dark textures and a strong sense of groove. The Hungarian producer and DJ founded the label Footwork Records and has also released on major electronic outlets such as Drumcode, Second State, Saved, 100% Pure, Cadenza and Octopus. His trajectory spans both the club circuit and festival stages, with appearances at venues and events like Space Ibiza, Tresor, Sónar, Amsterdam Dance Event and BPM Festival. Over the years Jay Lumen has refined an energetic techno aesthetic, often crafted for the dancefloor while maintaining precise work on tension and melodic motifs. Among his most recognizable releases are the LP Lost Tales (2016) and Lost Tales / Remix Album (2017), as well as a series of EPs and singles released regularly from the 2010s onward. He has also recorded several collaborations — notably with Green Velvet, Harvey McKay, Wade, Popof and Roberto Capuano — which reinforce his grounding in a European techno tradition that sits between club effectiveness and a more detailed compositional approach.
