Mha Iri

Raised in Edinburgh, Mha Iri first approached music through songwriting and singing before turning to techno, shaped by the Scottish rave scene and by several years in Melbourne where she developed a practice as a DJ and promoter within the local underground. Since her first releases in 2018, Mha Iri has built a sound centred on direct, spacious and melodic techno—designed for the club but threaded with a more emotional dimension, sometimes featuring her own voice. Her trajectory has taken her across labels and international stages, with releases notably on Drumcode, Filth on Acid and Trick. Mha Iri’s aesthetic sits in peak‑time techno, combining rhythmic tension, prominent synth lines and bold build-ups, while retaining more atmospheric textures. Between Scotland, Australia and the European electronic circuit, she is evolving a project where rave energy, a sense for long‑form structures and an occasional vocal approach meet in festival and club techno.
