Karmanjakah

Progressive metal project from Sweden, Karmanjakah crafts music on the border between djent, modern metal and alternative rock. The band builds compositions with elongated structures, playing on sharp contrasts between syncopated riffs, atmospheric passages and more melodic sequences, with a pronounced focus on changes in dynamics and tempo. Throughout the 2010s Karmanjakah established itself on the progressive metal scene by releasing its tracks online, first through a series of independently produced songs and then via longer releases that developed a more narrative and conceptual aesthetic. Vocals, often clean but punctuated by more aggressive registers, occupy a central place in the songwriting, in constant dialogue with highly rhythmic guitar lines and a dense rhythm section. Karmanjakah thus attracts an audience close to contemporary djent and prog scenes, while maintaining a commitment to accessible melodies and an often cinematic atmosphere, developed both in the studio and on stage.
