Axel Flovent
Born in Húsavík in northern Iceland, Axel Flóvent has developed since the mid‑2010s a restrained indie‑folk style, threaded with touches of atmospheric pop and ambient. His songs rest on acoustic guitars, a discreet piano, airy arrangements and a soft voice, in an intimate register where melancholy remains contained. He emerged with the track “Forest Fires” and the Forest Fires EP released in 2015, which quickly placed him within an independent folk scene attentive to stripped‑down formats and Nordic climates. His path then included concerts across Europe and a noted appearance at SXSW in 2016, before the release of the album You Stay by the Sea in 2017. Based for a time in Reykjavik while keeping ties to his hometown, Axel Flóvent continues to pursue music of slowness and clarity, halfway between acoustic confession and hushed production, where atmosphere matters as much as the melodic line.
