Dead Pony

Formed in Glasgow in 2015, Dead Pony began as Crystal around the duo Anna Shields and Blair Crichton, before adopting their current name in 2020 and settling as a four-piece with Liam Adams on bass and Euan Lyons on drums. The Scottish band developed a sound somewhere between pop-punk, nu metal and alternative rock, with traces of grunge, very direct choruses and songwriting that blends melodic tension, sturdy riffs and an almost punk energy. After several singles released as Crystal, Dead Pony opened a new chapter with "Everything is Easy" in 2020 on LAB Records, then honed their approach on the War Boys EP in 2022. Subsequent releases show a wider spectrum—from the intensity of "MK Nothing" and "Cobra" to more melodic tracks like "About Love"—culminating in Ignore This, their debut album released in 2024, where they articulate rock, pop and electronic influences more clearly without losing their edge. Dead Pony also built their reputation on stage, touring with Mother Mother, Twin Atlantic, Chvrches and Kid Kapichi, while remaining rooted in the Scottish scene they come from.
