VENUS GRRRLS

Between Leeds and Newcastle, VENUS GRRRLS formed around a core of five musicians led by vocalist GK, with Eliza Lee on guitar, Hannah Barraclough on bass, Grace Stubbings on keyboards and Alannah Doherty on drums. The band situates its music in dark alternative rock, where goth rock, grunge and post‑punk intersect with a perceptible riot grrrl influence in both frontal energy and songwriting. Heavy guitar lines, synth motifs and taut rhythms frame a direct, often narrative vocal that gives the whole an abrasive yet melodic hue. Having emerged on the British indie scene, the musicians have gradually found their place on the UK rock and alternative circuit, with exposure relayed notably by BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and SiriusXM. VENUS GRRRLS thus develops a compact aesthetic marked by the collision of post‑punk tension, gothic textures and choruses inherited from 1990s rock.
