Narrow Head

Formed in Houston, Texas, in 2013, Narrow Head makes music that sits between shoegaze, grunge and alternative rock, featuring thick guitars, often darkened melodic lines and a tension that owes as much to noise rock as to post-hardcore. Initially active in the Texas indie scene, the band moved its early approach toward more structured and more upfront songwriting across its releases, before setting clearer markers with Satisfaction in 2016. They followed with 12th House Rock in 2020 and Moments of Clarity in 2023 — three albums that show increasingly precise work on balancing saturation, hooks and hazy atmospheres. Narrow Head travels between several scenes, from punk and DIY circuits to lineups more associated with indie rock and heavy music, without settling into a single label. Their music remains marked by a taste for dense tempos, melancholic harmonies and a direct way of marrying rhythmic impact with diffuse textures.
