REZN

Formed in Chicago, REZN has been developing since the mid-2010s a psychedelic doom that blends heavy stoner metal, space rock and extended atmospheric passages. The band, built around Rob McWilliams’s guitar and vocals, bassist Phil Cangelosi, drummer Patrick Dunn and the saxophone and keyboard textures of Spencer Ouellette, works on long compositions that alternate massive riffs, hypnotic slowness and more meditative sequences. REZN drew attention with the album Let It Burn in 2017, followed by Calm Black Water in 2018, which deepened a more aquatic and immersive side, and Chaotic Divine in 2020, marked by denser playing and more developed structures. With Solace in 2023, REZN further pushes the balance between heaviness, soaring atmospheres and more assertive melodic lines. Active on the North American and European live scenes and present in doom, stoner and heavy‑psych circuits, REZN plays numerous club and festival tours, building a coherent sonic universe in which the instrumental dimension occupies a central place.
