Terrenoire

Terrenoire is a French duo from Saint-Étienne, formed in 2017 by brothers Raphaël Herrerias and Théo Herrerias; their name pays tribute to the Terrenoire neighborhood. Raphaël handles vocals and songwriting while Théo focuses on production and arrangements. After a self-titled EP in 2018, the group released the album Les Forces Contraires in August 2020, then reissued it as Les Forces Contraires : La Mort et la Lumière in February 2022. In January 2025, Terrenoire unveiled their second major album, Protégé.e. The label Black Paradiso has supported them since their earliest projects, and their signing with Virgin Music / Universal marks their gradual rise in the French music scene. The pair rely on their local roots, their relationship to their hometown, and a universe that blends introspection, urban life and cultural heritage. Terrenoire collaborates with artists such as Bernard Lavilliers (on “Je tiens d’elle”) and has supported other voices like Louane (“Désolée”) and Pomme (“Ça va aller”), while continuing their own artistic work since 2017.
