Ken Carson
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Ken Carson, born Kenyatta Lee Frazier Jr., emerged within the 2010s American rap scene driven by online platforms and social media. Starting out on SoundCloud, he put out a trap sound steeped in plugg and rage aesthetics, marked by saturated electronic production, brisk rhythms, and filtered vocals with looping melodies. His signing to Opium, the label founded by Playboi Carti, anchored him in a milieu alongside Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang, multiplying joint appearances onstage and in the studio. After several EPs, including Boy Barbie (2019) and Teen X, then Teen X: Relapsed (2020), he organized his trajectory around the albums Project X (2021), X (2022), and A Great Chaos (2023), extending an approach focused on short tracks, crafted ad-libs, and an abrasive sonic aesthetic. This path places him at the intersection of Atlanta rap, internet-rap currents, and a generation of artists for whom visual identity, a shared universe, and an online presence directly accompany musical evolution.
