Gunner Shepardson, born in 2007 in Richmond, Virginia, is known as Nettspend, an American rapper and songwriter who emerged from the online scene. After a childhood shaped by music and an early exposure to rap in elementary school, he began posting tracks on SoundCloud in late 2022. His audience expanded in 2023 when a clip of “Drankdrankdrank” circulated widely on social media, while the song “Shine N Peace” drew attention from the specialist press. Nettspend works in a hip-hop style influenced by trap and jerk, typically releasing very short tracks driven by saturated 808s, sparse pianos and bright synths in a direct, rhythm-focused aesthetic. Affiliated with the 1c34 collective around xaviersobased, he helped spread a new jerk wave in the early 2020s and has collaborated on tracks such as “40” with Evilgiane and xaviersobased and “Withdrawals” with OsamaSon. Signed to Grade A Productions in partnership with Interscope, he released the EP Kickdoor in 2023, the mixtape Bad Ass F*cking Kid in 2024, and the EP Gone Too Soon in 2025. At the same time he has performed on stages like Rolling Loud and stepped into the fashion world, walking for Miu Miu and later Gucci, while his debut album Early Life Crisis is scheduled for March 2026.
