Massimiliano Pagliara

Born in Tricase in the south of Apulia (Puglia), Massimiliano Pagliara grew up in a very open musical environment, ranging from rap, reggae and dub to classical music and 1960s rock’n’roll, before moving to Milan in 1997. There he studied theatre, dance and choreography at the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, graduating in 2001, while also discovering alternative scenes and experimental electronic music. He later settled in Berlin to pursue contemporary dance, but from 2003 turned to DJing and became a regular presence in the European club scene, playing venues such as Tresor, Robert Johnson, SchwuZ and Panorama Bar. His music crosses house, disco, electro and techno in a writing that is at once melodic, tense and often traversed by acidic textures. Pagliara released the album Focus For Infinity in 2011, With One Another in 2014, the EP Time And Again on Ostgut Ton in 2017, the album Feel Live in 2018 and See You In Paradise in 2022 on Permanent Vacation. Alongside remixes and several collaborative projects — notably with Snax, Daniel Wang, Rotciv and Chris Cruse — he has also developed his own label, Funnuvojere Records.
