Eden Burns

Based between New Zealand and Australia at different stages of his trajectory, Eden Burns first made a name for himself on the club circuit with productions at the crossroads of house, breakbeat, italo, deviant disco and a dance-oriented electronic music that is often eccentrically playful. Originating from the southern part of Aotearoa, he develops a very identifiable musical language, based on flexible rhythms, bouncy basslines and a strong taste for contrasts between club energy and stranger or more melodic details. Under his name as well as across different projects and aliases documented on Discogs, Eden Burns releases over the years on labels such as Public Possession, Beats In Space, Optimo Music, Sensible Seelen, Cold Tonic and Feel My Bicep. His discography, dense without being linear, moves between dancefloor-oriented maxis and more oblique tracks, with a constant attention paid to groove and color. In parallel with his work as a producer, Eden Burns pursues a regular DJ activity, invited as much in clubs and festivals as on radio stations like NTS or Rinse FM, where his selections blend mutant house, broken rhythms, off-kilter synth-pop and balearic references with a free, fluid approach and no strict boundaries between genres.
