Johannes Albert

Based in Berlin after growing up in Franconia near Würzburg, Johannes Albert has developed since the 2010s a career as a producer and DJ focused on house and its intersections with disco, acid house, Italo disco, techno and certain rave aesthetics. He runs the label Frank Music, through which he releases part of his work and promotes a vision of club music that is warm, rhythmic and attentive both to disco’s analog textures and to house’s more direct effectiveness. In parallel, he has released tracks on labels such as Live At Robert Johnson, Rawax and Permanent Vacation, placing his work within a network connected to the Berlin scene as well as European electronic music circuits. His DJ sets, played in German clubs and on international stages, blend classic references and more recent productions with a marked taste for transitions between groove, acidic tension and melodic lines inherited from 1980s and 1990s dance music.
