Galcher Lustwerk

Born in Cleveland and based in New York, Galcher Lustwerk has been developing a sound since the early 2010s that sits between deep house, slowed‑down hip‑house and spoken word, with restrained productions, supple basslines and a half‑spoken/half‑rapped vocal at mid volume that becomes a central rhythmic element. Galcher Lustwerk emerged in 2013 with 100% Galcher, a mix made entirely from his own tracks, which immediately established a nocturnal, minimal and hazy aesthetic, also nourished by memories of quiet storm, adult contemporary and jazz. On the New York house scene and later on a more international stage, he pursued this approach with Dark Bliss (2017), 200% Galcher (2018) and Information (2019), records where he honed a very personal relationship to repetition, groove and oblique narration. A producer, DJ and vocalist, Galcher Lustwerk also works under other names — including Road Hog, Macchiato and The Fock — and led the Studio OST project with Alvin Aronson; these variations extend his interest in the most hypnotic, stripped‑down club forms.
