Lucrecia Dalt
Born in Pereira, Colombia, Lucrecia Dalt initially studied civil engineering and worked in Medellín before dedicating herself to music — a trajectory that partly explains the architectural quality of her compositions. Her first recordings appeared in the mid-2000s under the name Lucrecia, with Acerca (2005) and Congost (2009), still rooted in electronic music. Later based in Europe and then New Mexico, Dalt's writing evolved toward a more abstract form, at the intersection of experimental, ambient, deconstructed pop and sound composition. Under her full name she has released, among others, Commotus (2012), Syzygy (2013), Ou (2015), Anticlines (2018), No Era Sólida (2020), ¡Ay! (2022) and A Danger to Ourselves (2025). Her work places the voice at the center, often treated as a shifting material, with discreet rhythms, organic textures and a marked taste for oblique narrative forms. She has also collaborated with Aaron Dilloway and composed several scores for the screen, including The Seed and The Baby (2022), and Rabbit Trap (2025).
