Zak Abel

London-based singer-songwriter of Moroccan-British origin, Zak Abel emerged in the mid-2010s with a pop-soul sound defined by an expressive voice and direct melodies. After early online beginnings as a teenager, he gravitated toward the UK electronic scene and in 2014 released the collaborative EP Joker Presents: Zak Abel with producer Joker, which introduced him to grime and bass music networks. Zak Abel followed with the 2015 EP One Hand on the Future, refining a style that blends soul, pop and R&B touches, before issuing his debut album Only When We’re Naked in 2017, featuring more personal songwriting. At the same time he gained recognition as a guest vocalist on house and dance productions — notably with Gorgon City and Kygo — which regularly brought him to festival and club stages across Europe. Working within a contemporary pop framework with clear arrangements, he has built a repertoire centered on voice, harmonies and generally mid- to uptempo grooves, extended in 2023 by the album Love Over Fear, which cements his position between modern soul, radio pop and electronic collaborations.
