Tom Misch
Born in London in 1995, Tom Misch early developed a songwriting approach that blends neo‑soul, jazz‑funk, hip‑hop, R&B and pop, with guitar, vocals and production at its core. After he began releasing music online in 2012, he attracted attention with a series of tracks and the mixtapes Beat Tape 1 (2014) and Beat Tape 2 (2015), which already showcased his taste for laid‑back grooves, jazz harmonies and rap‑inspired rhythms. His first EPs — Out to Sea (with Carmody, 2014), Reverie (2016) and 5 Day Mischon (2017) — accompanied his emergence on a London scene where soul, contemporary jazz and spoken word intersect, featuring recurring collaborations with Loyle Carner, Jordan Rakei, Zak Abel and Carmody. In 2018 he released Geography, his debut studio album built around melodic, fluid soul‑pop. He broadened his palette with What Kinda Music, a joint album with drummer Yussef Dayes released in 2020 that leans more toward improvisation, electronic textures and dialogues between jazz and broken beat. Under the alias Supershy he then explored a more dance‑ and electronics‑oriented side on Happy Music (2023), before returning under his own name with the EP Six Songs (2024) and the album Full Circle (2026).
