Terror

Formed in the early 2000s on the Los Angeles hardcore scene, Terror coalesced around vocalist Scott Vogel, who had already been active in several Buffalo hardcore bands. The group developed a sound that sits between fast hardcore punk and metal influences, built on massive riffs, pronounced breakdowns and direct vocals, with lyrics focused on the scene, social frustration and perseverance. After an initial EP, "Lowest of the Low" (2003), Terror released "One with the Underdogs" (2004) and "Always the Hard Way" (2006), which placed the band within an international network of independent venues, squats and specialized festivals. The albums "The Damned, the Shamed" (2008) and "Keepers of the Faith" (2010) confirmed the band's footing in contemporary hardcore, while "Live by the Code" (2013) and "The 25th Hour" (2015) continued a relatively steady musical approach, marked by Nick Jett's drumming and a succession of guitarists and bassists from the American scene. Signed at various times to labels such as Bridge 9, Trustkill, Century Media and Pure Noise, Terror remains associated with the LAHC acronym and has toured extensively in North America, Europe and Japan. With "Total Retaliation" (2018) and "Pain Into Power" (2022), produced with former guitarist Todd Jones, Terror continues to explore a compact hardcore formula centered on rhythmic efficiency and a close connection with the live audience.
