100 Demons

Formed in Waterbury, Connecticut, 100 Demons emerged in the late 1990s in the wake of the most metallic American hardcore. The band developed a sound situated between hardcore punk and metalcore, with heavy riffs, pounding tempos, very present breakdowns, and a rough vocal rooted in the East Coast hardcore tradition. A first milestone was set with the demo We Are Forsaken in 1998, before the release of the album In the Eyes of the Lord in 2000 on Good Life Recordings, which established this direct, dry approach strongly marked by the intersection of hardcore and metal. After several lineup changes, notably at the vocals, 100 Demons then recorded its second album, 100 Demons, released in 2004 by Deathwish Inc., with writing that preserves the tension of hardcore while emphasizing the metallic dimension. Over the years, 100 Demons has remained associated with the Northeast US hardcore scene, with occasional shows and posters shared with bands from the contemporary hardcore scene. The band has announced a third album, Embrace the Black Light, scheduled for 2026.
