Merauder
Formed in New York in 1990, Merauder is rooted in the New York hardcore tradition while incorporating strong metalcore, beatdown hardcore and groove metal elements, characterized by massive riffs, heavy tempos and abrasive vocals. After several demos in the early 1990s, the band became more prominent with the arrival of singer Jorge Rosado in 1995—the year of the split EP with Stigmata and the release of Master Killer (1995), an album frequently cited as the meeting point between New York hardcore and a more compact metal aesthetic. Merauder then embarked on US and European tours, appeared on bills alongside both hardcore and metal acts, and went on to release Five Deadly Venoms (1999) and Bluetality (2003). Following a breakup in the early 2000s, Merauder resumed activity around Jorge Rosado from 2007, who remained the central figure despite numerous lineup changes. This period culminated in God Is I (2009), where the band retained its hardcore core while accentuating thrash and groove elements. Over the years Merauder has maintained a direct, tense and physical sound, anchored in the New York scene but enduring across international hardcore and metal circuits.
