Shermanology

Based in Amsterdam, Shermanology brings together brother and sister Andy and Dorothy Sherman around a vocal house sound that blends soul, funk, disco and dance music. The project emerged in the late 2000s on the Dutch electronic scene, initially with club-oriented productions and later with a looser songwriting approach in which the role of the vocals, basslines and house rhythms became more pronounced. Dorothy Sherman’s voice remains central to Shermanology while Andy develops the production and the duo’s DJ side, creating a hybrid format between live performance and club culture. Over their career Shermanology has collaborated with artists such as Afrojack and Avicii, and operates both within house label networks and on festival and club stages across Europe and internationally. Over the years they have shifted their aesthetic from electro house toward a more soulful, groove-driven house without leaving the realm of electronic dance music.
