Sharam

Born in Tehran in 1970 and settled in Washington D.C. in his teens, Sharam Tayebi has since the early 1990s developed a path between house and techno, with an approach that connects American club culture, deep house grooves and tighter textures. He first emerged within Deep Dish, a duo formed in 1992 with Dubfire, active in Washington's underground scene and later on international circuits, with albums such as Penetrate Deeper in 1995, Junk Science in 1998 and George Is On in 2005. Parallel to this work as producer and remixer, Sharam pursues a solo trajectory that takes shape in the mid-2000s, first with the compilation Global Underground: Dubai in 2006, then with the albums Get Wild in 2009, Retroactive in 2016 and Collecti in 2017. His solo repertoire moves between vocal house, electro-house, melodic techno and club-oriented formats, with tracks such as PATT (Party All The Time), The One, She Came Along or Don’t Say a Word. Sharam collaborates occasionally with singers and producers from pop, hip-hop or electronic spheres, while maintaining an anchor in club scenes, festivals and the world of long-running DJ sets.
